Farrah Franklin Arrested on Drunk and Disorderly Charges; Singer Was In Destiny’s Child For Five Months

Farrah Franklin Arrested: Ex-Destiny's Child member, Farrah Franklin, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct.

According to Gannett S.C.,  station WLTX-TV, the singer, who was in Beyonce Knowles' Destiny's Child for five months in 2000, was arrested near Myrtle Beach, S.C., on Sunday morning for disorderly conduct

According to TMZ, the police found Farrah Franklin lying in a "highly intoxicated" in a neighbor's yard. The former Destiny's Child singer told law enforcement that she had planned to sleep in the woods. The 33-year-old singer was booked at the Horry County Detention Center in Conway at 4:55 a.m. She was released at 12:16 p.m. on Sunday. Franklin was fined $280.

Franklin took to Instagram to say she's doing all right after the arrested. She posted a picture with the quote "May the Lord turn all your sour moments into sweet lemonade." And wrote ""to be great, you have to be willing to be mocked, hated, and misunderstood. Stay strong That part! I'm good just hate the dumb media sometimes, but hey this is the job I signed up for. So I respect it #TurnDownForWhat #TeamFARRAH #GodsChild #Instagram."

According to reports, Franklin was drinking with NFL players Daquan Bowers and Ricky Sapp. On early Sunday morning, the three went to Sapp's house. The football players said they called the police after Franklin was "yelling, slamming doors and refused to stop when asked."

When the cops showed up they found Franklin lying in a neighbor's yard. She told the police she "did not have anywhere else to go and was planning on sleeping in the woods."

Franklin spent 5 months with the Destiny's Child in 2000, but after she reportedly missed appearances, Beyonce and Kelly Rowland dropped her from the band.

Franklin joined Destiny's Child along with fellow new member Michelle Williams after two of the original members left the group. She made her debut in the music video for "Say My Name." After she missed performances, Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, and Williams became a trio. Destiny's Child broke up in 2006.

This is not the first time Franklin has been arrested on disorderly conduct charges. In Los Angeles in 2011 she was arrested for disorderly conduct and alcohol was allegedly involved. At the time she said she was the victim of racial profiling.
