Comic Con 2014 Capcom: ‘Street Fighter: World Warrior' Release Date Announced At SDCC: Creators Confirm New Characters For New Live-Action Web Series

Comic Con 2014 Capcom Update! Street Fighter has been confirmed to have a sequel, which will be entitled Street Fighter: World Warrior. News regarding the live action web series was announced last Friday at the SDCC 2014.

As reported by Variety, new characters will be introduced in the sequel including iconic SF characters such as Guile, Chun Li and Sagat.

“The scale of ‘World Warrior’ is much larger, picking up where ‘Assassin’s Fist’ left off as we follow Ryu and Ken on their ‘Musha Shugyo’ (warrior’s pilgrimage),” writer and director Joey Ansah said. “The Shadaloo criminal cartel will be introduced, led by the extremely dangerous M.Bison, which will naturally lead into the World Warrior tournament.”

Meanwhile, Hollywood Reporter added more information on how the sequel would feel and look like. Producer Jacqueline Quella was quoted saying, “We are incredibly happy to continue our relationship with Capcom, to bring more of the iconic characters from the Street Fighter video game to the screen. We demonstrated with Assassin's Fist that an authentic, live-action version of a video game, with a compelling and dramatic storyline, can be made. We’ll be taking the same approach with the new series.”

World Warrior will be a follow up to the Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist, which was originally announced last Comic Con 2012 and is currently available on YouTube. The web series is part of Capcom’s Street Fighter’s story, where Ken and Ryu discover the history of their master Gouken.

Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist is available on Machinima’s YouTube channel.
