Susan Sarandon Slams Woody Allen’s Reputation `For Being with Younger Girls’; Star of The Last of Robin Hood Says Allen `Really Tore That Family Apart’

Susan Sarandon slammed Woody Allen in a recent interview.

In an interview with The Daily Beast, Susan Sarandon was talking about her role in the upcoming film "The Last of Robin Hood," where she plays the mother of the young actress at the center of the Errol Flynn controversy decades ago. Woody Allen's latest comedy, "Magic in the Moonlight," is also about a May December romance and The Daily Beast wanted to know her take on the more recent controversy.

"I have issues with Woody Allen," Sarandon told The Daily Beast. "I think he really tore that family apart in a way that was horrible, and hasn't really dealt with the aftermath."

Susan Sarandon told the Daily Beast, she is deeply disturbed that Allen married his girlfriend Mia Farrow's adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn.

Sarandon said. "He's always had a reputation for being with younger girls-I mean younger girls. And also, that young woman [Soon-Yi] was very vulnerable, and I think it was very hard for the siblings, and certainly for Mia. You just don't go there. You don't go there."

Mia Farrow's 7-year-old daughter accused Allen of molesting her in 1992. After the accusation, it came out that Allen was having a secret affair with Mia Farrow's adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn. Allen and Previn married in 1997.

The allegations made headlines again in January 2013 when Ronan Farrow took to Twitter to accuse Allen of molestation while the director was being honored with the Cecille B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes.

In February, Ronan's sister Dylan wrote an op-ed in the New York Times giving details of the allegations that Woody Allen had molested her. Allen responded in his own New York Times op-ed, saying "Of course, I did not molest Dylan."

Kevin Kline plays the 48-year-old Errol Flynn in "The Last of Robin Hood." The film details the real-life romance Flynn had with 15-year-old Beverly Aadland, who is played by Dakota Fanning. Susan Sarandon plays Aadland's mother. In the film, her character encourages the relationship in spite of the age gap.

"I think [Dakota is] very mature," Sarandon told The Daily Beast. "And I think that Dakota plays her in a graceful, non-Lolita-ish way."

"Magic in the Moonlight" stars Emma Stone and Colin Firth. They are having a romance in spite of their 28 years age gap. The film opened on Friday.

"The Last of Robin Hood" hits theaters Aug. 29.
