"Prometheus 2" release date is still uncertain but critics have been lobbying for the film to happen just so the lingering questions will be answered. Meanwhile, cast Michael Fassbender is rumored to be considered for season 2 of "True Detective."

The London's Guardian weighed in on the "Prometheus 2" release date when it said that the movie "is famous for answering almost none of the questions it initially posed and culminating with an open-ended finale which left plenty of room for a sequel."

"Complicating matters is the fact that the film exists within the same universe as Scott's classic 1979 space slasher flick 'Alien,'" it added.

The Hollywood Reporter also said that "Prometheus 2" release date should be announced in order to appease fans because at the time it opened to movie theaters, critics were saying that it was a "visual feast."

Famed film critic Roger Ebert said that the film had "staggering visuals."

Meanwhile, cast Michael Fassbender is perfect for "True Detective" season 2, according to the website FanSided.

"Michael Fassbender seems like such an obvious choice for True Detective that it would be hard to believe if it turns out he was never in the running. For all we currently know, he could be in talks with Pizzolatto right now," it said.

"It's fun to dream," Reuben Levine wrote for the site.

To date, no "Prometheus 2" spoiler rumors have revealed the plot for the sequel, particularly the origins story of the Engineers.

Last May, "Prometheus 2" director Ridley Scott was in Australia for "The Martian" starring Matt Damon.

News outlets, blogs and online community have been reporting "Prometheus 2" spoiler rumors but for now Ridley Scott is still mum on the filming of the sequel. However, Michael Fassbender did confirm there's going to be a sequel but he doesn't know when.
