Asus Transformer Book T100 review, specs: Powered by its new 1.47 GHz Intel Atom Z3775 quad-core processor, the Transformer Book T100 raises the bar when it comes to sound performance. It sports a 10-inch IPS touchscreen display, 2 GB RAM, 64 GB internal storage, and Windows 8.1 OS.

Although its original 1.33 GHz Atom Z3740 processor fares reasonably well when it comes to basic tasks and light gaming, the new processor delivers a better performance while balancing power consumption. After its release last year and its recent upgrade, Asus is showing signs that it is trying to give our money's worth.

The 2-in-1 tablet still runs on the Windows 8.1 version that lets you use your tablet as a fully-functioning laptop. It can still run desktop programs, only this time, it guarantees to be faster.

It measures 10.4 x 6.7 x 0.41 inches and weighs 544 grams. Its body is quite solid for a convertible tablet, and its light weight shows that it can be comfortably held by one hand. Still, it would have been better if it had a better and less compact keyboard and a superior trackpad.

Meanwhile, its 10.1-inch display has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels-admittedly not the best quality screens in the tablet market, but still good and sensitive enough for movie viewing and swift response action.

When it comes to battery, the Transformer Book T100 has an average battery life of 11 hours. This is considerably 38% longer than most tablets'.

The Asus model's Achilles heel would probably its sad 1.2 MP front-facing camera. If you're after shooting using your tablet, then this is not the one for you. However, the camera still holds well for video chatting and occasional selfies in well-lit areas.

Retailing at around $399, the Asus Transformer Book T100 tries to be both a decent notebook and quality tablet. It honestly doesn't fare at the top, but it can still deliver.
