Russell Brand Sean Hannity Fight: Brand Called Hannity's Lopsided Coverage Of Israel Palestine Conflict "Terrorist": Fox Anchor's Attempt To Respond Backfires When Geraldo Rivera Disagrees [VIDEO]

Russell Brand has released an 11 minute long video compleely destroying Sean Hannity's rant about Gaza. Sean Hannity attempted to fire back in a second video. Both are linked to at the bottom of the page.

Right-wing Hannity has struck an aggressively pro-Israeli line over its three-week offensive in Gaza that has killed more than 1,100 Palestinians, mainly civilians. Brand told the Fox News anchor he looks a Ken doll

Hannity recently targeted his ire at Palestinian-American guest Yousef Munayyer in a segment branded "Sympathy For The Terrorists". The host loundly and repetedly shouted demanding to know: "Is Hamas a terrorist organisation? What part of this can't you get through your thick head?"

Brand also questioned why the logo for Hannity's show was "a police badge" that features Hannity's name with stars above it.

Regardless of where you stand on the Israel-Gaza conflict - and how you feel about Russell Brand - there's no denying the comedian makes some good points about how Fox News host Sean Hannity handled a recent "debate" on his show, or rather deliberetly attempted to stop any productive discussion from happening.

Brand accused Hannity of "behaving like a terrorist" during his interview earlier this week with his guest from the Jerusalem Fund & Palestine Center, Yousef Munayyer.

"One of the definitions of 'terrorist' is using intimidation to reach your goals," Brand said. "Who in that situation was behaving like a terrorist, using bullying, intimidation? Sean Hannity. That is where the terrorism is coming from."

The use of "terrorist" to describe a talk show host might be heavy-handed, but after watching Hannity try to berate an answer out of Munayyer, Brand points out it seems "Sean's not interested in truth", but only in "pushing a particular perspective."

That became clear when, after Munayyer refused to play ball and say "Hamas is a terrorist organization", Hannity essentially hung up on him.

Later, Munayyer tweeted Hannity was "unhinged" and "came off as a total belligerent loon." He also noted Hannity invited him back and that he'd be happy to debate him "in a public forum where he can't hide behind his mic and mute button."

Throughout his takedown of Hannity, Brand tried to position himself in a neutral way, but he still made plenty of controversial statements.

"Even if everyone was carrying around children literally strapped to wooden boards, using them as shields - they still wouldn't die if it weren't for the missiles. The key ingredient in the death of those children is the missile," he said.

"There's no objective terrorism, there's just different perspectives of violence," he said. "No-one should be using violence, but if you're going to judge violence pejoratively and negatively, and God knows we all should, then the people doing the most and the most effective violence surely are committing the greater crime?"

Earlier today Sean Hannity hit back at the comedian in a bile-filled rant that concluded Israel has "shown too much restraint," in a conflict that has so far claimed the lives of more than 1,100 Palestinians, mainly children. It should be noted that Brand's video was a very rational step by step deconstruction of Hannity's debate, and he showed Hannity making his points. In Hannity's response he only showed the jokes Brand made, not the good point about Hannity's lack of journalistic integrity.

The comedian took to Twitter this morning to bait the right-wing anchor, saying, "This is the most viewed trews https://t.co/PXt6MZpYSp and it's all due to my boyfriend @seanhannity and comrades @FoxNews"

Hannity, never one to let an opponent have the last word, hit back in a video entitled "Hollywood's troubling take on Hamas." He wrote "@rustyrockets aka Mr. Katy Perry, heard you don't like my interview style. Well, I got some professional advice for you. Tune in at 10p ET Sean Hannity (@seanhannity) July 31, 2014"

In the video responding to Brand's attack, Hannity states: "Yesterday, Russell Brand, a D-list actor, better known for his failed marriage to Katy Perry recorded himself going on a 12-and-a-half minute tirade against... little old me."

Pausing to look at the camera, Hannity continues by playing Russell's clip before saying he is going to "educate" him. Hannity then reads out the Hamas Charter, saying it out loud to "help" the comedian, and arguing Hamas will go to any means to destroy Israel, even if it results in the death of hundreds of Palestinians.

"Possibly Russell can't get it through his thick head or even fathom that this is the reality."

Hannity then turns to his three panellists, the first of whom objectively and rationally deconstructs Brand's argument by calling him "skanky."

"He looks like he cooks meth and sleeps in his car, I wouldn't be calling anyone names," Bernard McGuirk, a Fox personality, said.

"You can't understand him, at least you can understand Ricky Gervais - it's no wonder he's not working," McGuirk added.

Panellist number two, Geraldo Rivera, a senior correspondent for Fox News, joins in by calling Brand "a doofus."

But although Rivera calls Brand's attack on Hannity "unwarranted," he acknowledges that there "are two sides to this story that are not necessarily being told."

In a surprising turn, Rivera then takes a fierce stand against Hannity's pro-Israel stance, highlighting the loss of lives, predominately those of children, suffered in Gaza.

"This is undermining Israel, this is the worst thing for Israel's stature and standing in the world - it's fuelling anti-Semitism and it's going to accomplish very, very little, but prolong this crisis."

"We can no longer ignore what is happening," he says, as Hannity can be heard muttering "Oh my Lord."

Dagen McDowell, of Fox Business Network, then wades in, saying celebrities should aim their complaints at Hamas, not Israel.

But the debate results in all three panellists shouting over each other before Rivera says amid the chaos "we need a permanent peace solution."

But Hannity doesn't want peace, shouting: "How do you make peace with a group that wants to obliterate you?!"

He then cut the mike and ended the interview.

Both of the segments are her below, more on this story as it becomes available.
