‘Pacific Rim 2’ Spoilers: Sequel’s Release Date Slated For 2017; Director Guillermo Del Torro Promises ‘Completely Different Journey’

"Pacific Rim 2" spoilers hinted of a sequel that will be very different from the first one as Director Guillermo Del Torro revealed that the movie will be shown in January or February 2017.

Speaking to LA Times' Hero Complex, the "Pan's Labyrinth's" director dished out some "Pacific Rim 2" spoilers as he said that they will have the draft of the screen play in about three weeks.

Director Guillermo Del Torro said designing the first movie took them about nine months, so it's to be expected that it will take "nine months or more" to design the second one.

"We start scouting for the movie in the summer next year, July, and then we start shooting in November," he said.

Meanwhile, Guillermo Del Torro revaled more "Pacific Rim 2" spoilers when he said the lead characters of "Pacific Rim 2" will be on a "completely different journey this time."

"Raleigh (Charlie Hunnam) for me solved his problem the minute he was able to go full circle and save Mako by sacrificing himself, which is what he couldn't do with his brother. He's not on that journey anymore, he's on a new journey," he told the publication.

Director Guillermo Del Torro said they are scouting for more locations, for the night battles and the daylight battles, in their effort to expand the mythology of the Anteverse so fans won't feel that they are seeing the same movie.

"Pacific Rim 2" cast Charlie Hunnam, for his part, expects the script to be delivered "in about a month or something."

In an interview with Zap2it, the "Sons of Anarchy" actor said: "I'm interested to see what the period of peace after the war looks like, and what these guys do, and how the world would react. One of the things I love most about 'Pac Rim' was the idea that we all kind of dropped our petty differences to fight the monsters at our door, literally.

"I'm interested to see -- if, I don't know if they will -- once that threat is diminished, what the socio-political landscape would look like," Charlie Hunnam added.
