Jason Derulo and Jordin Sparks can't escape speculation that they will get engaged at any moment, especially when the singers profess their undying love for each other in interviews. The "Marry Me" singer Jason Derulo now reveals that he knew his girlfriend Jordin Sparks was "the One" when they first started dating, and that he finds their relationship to be a "positive" role model in the entertainment industry.

Jason Derulo told E! News that "it's cool for people to see a positive relationship."

"You know, of course we have our problems just like anybody else," he admitted. "But our relationship is a positive one and that's good for people to see in today's entertainment industry."

The "Talk Dirty" singer also revealed that he knew girlfriend Jordin Sparks was "the One" from when they first started dating three years ago (they celebrated their anniversary on August 1!).

"I knew that pretty early on. I felt that when I was in the hospital with my neck injury," Derulo said. According to E! News, Derulo has previously praised his girlfriend for being instrumental throughout his recovery after he broke his vertebrae in January 2012.

"I felt different...I felt like I needed her in my world."

When the publication asked him if he had plans to get engaged anytime soon, he admitted he'd be ready to pop the question.

"When the time is right for sure," Jason revealed, but didn't specify a timeline.

Sparks previously told E! News last week that she would definitely say yes if Derulo proposed!

This isn't the first time Jason has alluded to the right timing.

StarTribune got a chance to talk to Jason Derulo on the phone last week, and asked him: "Speaking of Jordin, in your song 'Marry Me,' you promised to marry her when you 'get your money right.' Judging by your recent success, you got your money right. So when's the wedding date?"

"I get that question a lot. We've been together almost three years now. It's all about the right timing," Jason Derulo said.
