Shania Twain Las Vegas Residency Wins The Best of 2014 Award; Shania Twain Las Vegas Residency To Close In December

Shania Twain's Las Vegas residency, "Shania: Still the One," has been one of the tops shows in Sin City since it premiered at Caesars Palace in December of 2012.

The city showed its appreciation by giving Shania an official honor.

Las Vegas Weekly magazine showered love on Twain's one-woman show as the magazine named Shania Twain the "Best Resident Performer" in its "Best of Vegas 2014" list. Shania Train's Las Vegas tickets are going fast, discount or nor not. Twain's two-year residency at Caesars Palace will conclude with a 16-show run, culminating in a finale on Dec. 13.

Twain added 16 performances of her "Shania: Still the One" show in October and December. She also added 10 dates in October her final six shows in December.

Country music singer-songwriter Shania Twain is set to shutter her two-year Las Vegas residency at Caesar's Palace.

Shania Twain started her Las Vegas residency in November 2012 after such big names as country music superstar Garth Brooks and fellow Canadian Celine Dion had hit Caesar's Palace residencies. Twain was away from the stage for more than eight years before hit Sin City. The "Man I Feel Like a Woman" singer will end her residency with a grand finale performance on Dec. 13.

In a statement, Twain said "I can't thank Las Vegas enough. ... "At the beginning of this amazing journey, through the rediscovery for my love of performing, I knew the stage would feel like home, but it turned out that Las Vegas itself became 'home.'"

"Performing for fans who come from all over the world to see the show night after night warms my heart. I started the first international Shania Kids Can clubhouse in Las Vegas because I love this city, and my time here has given me more than anyone can ever know."

Twain has already been giving back to the community beyond her shows. "I started the first international Shania Kids Can clubhouse in Las Vegas because I love this city, and my time here has given me more than anyone can ever know," Shania said in the statement.

When she first hit the strip, Shania stopped traffic as she showed up on horseback followed by a small herd of horses.

Twain's residency matched her entrance. It was called "a spectacular journey through the various stages of Shania's life and career in an unforgettable evening filled with music, multi-sensory experiences, fashion and a few unexpected surprises." It had such goodies as trained horses, a live band and a flying motorcycle.

When her residency ends, Shania will have performed more than 100 shows.
