Lenovo Chromebooks 2014: Specs of N20, N20P Incl. 11.6” Display, 4 GB RAM, Intel Celeron Processor; Company Says Goodbye To Windows, Welcomes Chrome OS

Lenovo Chromebooks 2014: After manufacturing laptops powered by Windows OS, Lenovo takes a sharp turn and starts producing Chromebooks running under Chrome OS. This year, the company known as the "laptop king" continues its Chromebook series by releasing the N20 and N20P.

The two new Lenovo Chromebooks are generally the spitting image of each other when it comes to specs and body. Both include an 11.6-inch display (with a 1366 x 768 resolution), 4GB RAM, 1MP web camera and up to 16GB in internal storage. The peripherals for the units include two USB ports, audio in/out, HDMI-out, and a 2-in-1 (SD/MMC) card reader, according to ZDNet.

The main difference between the two lies in the screen. The Lenovo N20P sports a flexible HD display that can bend up to 300 degrees, similar to what Lenovo Yoga tablets can offer. With a 10-point multi-touchscreen interface, the N20P is definitely one of the company's flagship laptops.

Lenovo fans can notice that this Chromebook is fairly similar to the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 14, except with a smaller rack and different OS. TechRadar said, "Lenovo used that strategy to great effect, crafting one of the sharpest Chromebooks seen yet."

However, the website also noted that there is also a chance that the laptop may not be ready to take in the new Chrome OS along with prime specs. "The first multi-mode Chromebook might look impressive, but will it be useful?" TechRadar added.

Meanwhile, the N20P's twin brother, the N20, sports the same classic display without the touchscreen. If you're not after the fancy screen, then the N20 will do just fine as it is said to retail at $279. Meanwhile, the N20P will come in a bit later at $329.

There are also rumors that Lenovo will also release a "3G model" around the globe, except for the US.
