"Les Miserables" actress Anne Hathaway's vegan diet plan halted filming of "The Intern" when she reportedly refused to eat cake that wasn't vegan. However, Anne Hathaway's rep has claimed this story is false, though he admits Anne Hathaway may be on a gluten-free diet. High maintenance much?

According to Page Six, Anne Hathaway didn't want to break her vegan diet plan when a scene in her new movie, "The Intern" (also starring Robert De Niro), required her to nibble on chocolate cake.

A source told Page Six that the "Les Miserables" actress wanted a healthier and dairy-free alternative, so a prop department production assistant was sent running for cakes from the bakery Vegan Divas on First Avenue.

Vegan diva is right.

"They put in two orders for three-layer chocolate ganache cakes," a source claimed.

However, Hathaway's rep has said that the story is "completely false" because "Anne is no longer a vegan."

But when he was asked if Hathaway is currently avoiding gluten, the rep admitted, "Not that I'm aware of, but she probably tries to avoid it when possible."

If Anne was on a gluten-free diet, it's possible that was another reason she couldn't eat the darn cake. Sounds like the actress doesn't want to break her diet plans for the sake of her job.

According to Page Six, Anne Hathaway was sticking to vegan and gluten-free diets in the past. While her rep claims she is no longer a vegan, Hathaway had a vegan wedding when she married husband Adam Shulman in 2012. The traditional Jewish ceremony had an all-vegan menu similar to the one at Hathaway's engagement party, including veggie burgers, cupcakes and truffle macaroni and cheese, Ecorazzi.com reports.

Anne also wore vegan shoes to the Oscars, so it's surprising that after all this effort the actress has stopped the vegan diet.
