K-Pop Crossover: Lily Allen And Katy Perry Lead Our List Of Pop Music's Top 5 Feuds

Recently, a simple diss track pitted 2NE1 and newcomer A.KOR against each other, but pop music is not foreign to feuds between idols.

Here's our list of top five pop music feuds.

1. Nicki Minaj, Lil Kim, Foxy Brown, Iggy Azalea

The female rap world is famous for its pop queen exchanging disses at each other. Although Foxy Brown and Lil Kim started off in similar paths (even going to the same high school in Brooklyn at one point) and were allegedly friends, their feud began in 1996 when their debut albums were released just a week apart in November. Soon, the pair began exchanging verses that were clearly geared toward each other.

Some years later, Nick Minaj inserted herself into mix by releasing a series of verses aimed at Brown and Kim. Lil Kim returned the gesture on August 6 with the track "Identity Theft."

Most recently, tabloids also theorized on a feud between Nicki Minaj and newcomer Iggy Azalea, after Minaj allegedly jabbed at Azalea for not writing her own rap.

“My point of saying what I said was that women need to have a perspective," said Minaj to FADER Magazine. “If we’re out here saying that we’re so confident, and we’re so this and so that, but we don’t even trust ourselves to write down our own thoughts and spit it on a beat? It just doesn’t add up.”

2. Lily Allen and Katy Perry

This feud began in 2009 when the "I Kissed A Girl" singer described herself as a "fatter version of Amy Winehouse and the skinner version of Lily Allen."

Despite calling the statement a joke, Allen responded in kind, calling the statement "crass."

"It's like, you're not English and you don't write your own songs—shut up!" said Allen according to MTV. Reportedly, the British pop star even threatened to post Perry's phone number on Facebook.

“I have Katy Perry’s number, someone did me a favor. I’m just waiting for her to open her mouth one more time then it hits Facebook.”

3. Courtney Love and Dave Grohl

The death of Kurt Cobain left Courtney Love and former bandmate Dave Grohl to divide the music legend's estate. Naturally, this turned into a feud of epic proportions.

In 2012, Love escalated the feud by claiming on Twitter that Grohl hit on, and possibly had relations with Love's daughter Frances Bean Cobain.

"Unfortunately Courtney is on another hateful Twitter rant," said Grohl's publicist to Gawker. "These new accusations are upsetting, offensive and absolutely untrue."

Remnants of the feud between the pair also appear in Grohl's music, from the Foo Fighters' 1995 debut "I'll Stick Around" to "Let It Die" from 2007's "Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace."

4. Eminem and Moby

In 2002, Moby accused Eminem of being misogynistic, homophobic, and anti-Semitic, so it is to no one's surprise when the controversial rapper called the avant-garde musician a "36-year-old bald-headed fag."

The feud was highlighted at the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards, when Triumph the Insult Comic Dog from "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" attempted to interview both artists, who were seated right next to each other.

"I had no idea what that dog was," wrote Eminem in his 2008 memoir "The Way I Am."

"So my natural reaction was, 'Get the f- out of my face.' And that's when I kind of lost it and a half. I stuck my fingers basically on Moby's nose, right in his face, like, 'F- you.'"

5. Beyonce and Rihanna

Perhaps the most infamous of the rumored pop diva feuds, news of the pair clashing have existed since the "Umbrella" singer's debut in 2005.

“Rihanna and Beyonce have always had a very cordial [relationship], but they are definitely competitors,” said an alleged insider to MediaTakeOut after the surprise release of Beyonce's eponymous album.

“I think Beyonce is jealous of Rihanna. First there were those Jay Z [affair] rumors, and lately people are acting like Rihanna [is] the top girl in the game. [I think] Beyonce definitely pulled a power play and let Rihanna know who the Queen is.”

Even the sensational elevator fight between Jay-Z and Beyonce's sister Solange Knowles allegedly has ties to Rihanna. Allegedly, the fight occurred when Jay-Z wanted to stop by Rihanna's party the night of the incident.

The chances of this feud being explicitly confirmed are slim to none given Jay-Z's ties to both pop stars, but observers love to let their imagination run wild when it comes to two of the biggest divas in the music industry.
