Jason Bateman Leads ‘Arrested Development’ 2014 Season 5 Cast: Will ‘Horrible Bosses 2’ Star Win Emmy Nomination Despite Season 4 Mixed Reviews?

'Arrested Development' fans can rejoice; the show will be back for season 5! "It's just a matter of when," explained Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos. The Netflix hotshot is "positive" another season of the fan-favorite 'Arrested Development' will be ordered.

'The Longest Week' star Jason Bateman and his cast mates will indeed reunite once again to create some more Arrested Development magic. The hilariously dysfunctional family, the Bluths, has become one of the most iconic families on recent television. Also starring Portia de Rossi, Will Arnette, and Michael Cera, it has now been over ten years since the show premiered.

Although season 4 of the popular television show was not very well received by critics or viewers, season 5 will surely bring even better content. Due to conflicting schedules, episodes in season 4 were split up based on each character. Therefore, there was very little on-screen interaction between the family fans had come to love. In the first three seasons, which aired on FOX from 2003 to 2006, Sarandos explained that Netflix recognized that "the cast didn't appear on screen often enough together," and that the criticism the initial revival received was "fair."

Still, some exciting news regarding 'Arrested Development' season 4 was recently announced. The Netflix show was nominated for three Emmy awards this month, including one for leading man Jason Bateman. The series 's nomination include Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series for Jason Bateman, in addition to nominations for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series and Outstanding Single-camera Picture Editing for a Comedy Series. In 2004, 'Arrested Development' won the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series for its first season.

'Arrested Development' creator Mitch Hurwitz has also suggested that a movie may come before season 5. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Hurwitz said "I'm working on the movie right now. I can't get into much more detail because I don't want to scare anybody off. I don't want to be presumptuous about it. I don't own the property outright - it's a 20th Century Fox property. But everybody seems really into it and really eager to make a movie."

While neither the 'Arrest Development' film nor Season 5 of the Netflix show have been officially announced, we have been given enough clues to know that they will eventually happen! As to when they will be filmed or released, 'Arrested Development' fans still need to hold tight!

Jason Bateman has some great movies in store for fans though! If you need your Michael Bluth fix, you can check Emmy nominee Jason Bateman out in 'The Longest Week' on September 6, 'This Is Where I Leave You' on September 19, and 'Horrible Bosses 2' on November 26!
