"Prometheus 2" cast Michael Fassbender entertained the crowd by donning on the "Frank" paper mache head during the after party following the film's New York premiere on Tuesday night. Meanwhile, the Irish actor channeled h is inner Bono as he starts on the promotions tour for the indie movie.

In the series of photos published on MailOnline, "Prometheus 2" cast Michael Fassbender transformed into his on-screen character as he showed off his funny side and played to the crowd.

"His latest attempt at comedy is quiet a departure for the star after having played more serious and darker roles in the 'X-men' series and films such as 'Prometheus' and '12 Years a Slave,' which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor," the British tabloid said.

"Frank" was described by The Daily Telegraph  as an eccentric tale based on the story of Frank Sidebottom, a British musician who fronted a punk rock band while wearing a huge fiberglass head.

"It was a no-brainer, I could spend most days in my hotel room just watching pay for view television and send someone else in with the head," Michael Fassbender told the publication. "It was a dream job."

Turning serious, "Prometheus 2" cast Michael Fassbender said: "I just like good stories and storytelling in whatever size or form that comes in, whether it's big like 'X-Men' or something very small like 'Frank.'"

The Los Angeles Daily News calls the film "consistently ridiculous then sneakily, sadly moving look at an alternative rock band that may be the ultimate in artistic integrity or maybe just unlistenable. Or both."

In New York on Thursday, "Prometheus 2" cast Michael Fassbender was snapped wearing rose colored sunglasses perhaps inspired by U2 frontman Bono.

The 37-year-old actor stepped out of the Crosby Street Hotel wearing the glasses and black leather jacket. He also carried his black suit over his shoulder in preparation for television appearances to promote "Frank."
