Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill was injured in an accident involving their band's tour bus on Saturday night. The accident forced the other group members to cancel their scheduled concert. 

The band was on their way to their hotel after a show in Mansfield, Boston when a pedestrian allegedly jumped in front of their tour bus, causing their vehicle to halt suddenly and leaving Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill injured, said a statement on the band's official website.

An announcement on their Facebook page regarding the accident was made on Sunday, adding that the group's show in Saratoga Springs, New York, has been postponed.

Followill is being treated for broken ribs, but "is doing well."

Kings of Leon bass guitarist and Followill's brother, Jared Followill, tweeted about the incident saying "So sad this a.m. Bus accident last night. Nathan has broken ribs. This was the most fun tour in a while. We'll be back ASAP. #GetWellNate".

Followill had said on his personal Twitter account that he is thankful for Kings of Leon's fans for their messages and show of support.

Kings of Leon had recently returned to the United States to continue on their Mechanical Bull tour, after being in Europe for a few months, according to Rolling Stone.

The band performed in Lollapallooza in Chicago last weekend and are set to perform on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday.

They are also set to join Kanye West in performing at the Made in America Festival in Philadelphia ath the end of the month.

It is still unclear how Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill's injuries will affect their tour schedule, which is slated to run over the next two months.

The band's tour is due to head south in October with shows scheduled in Mexico and Brazil.

Kings of Leon formed was formed in 1999 in Nashville, Tennessee, and is made up of brothers, Caleb, Nathan and Jared Followill and their cousin, Cameron Followill.
