Shailene Woodley And Ansel Elgort’s Kiss Wins Teen Choice Awards 2014! ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ Actor Becomes Emotional As He Acknowledges Cancer Patients

The film adaptation of John Green's novel "The Fault in Our Stars" was a big hit at the recently concluded Teen Choice Awards 2014 held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California. Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort's dating chemistry paid off as they won the Choice Movie Liplock award.

The 22-year-oldactress took home two surfboard awards: Choice Movie Actress: Action award for "Divergent" and Choice Movie Actress: Drama for "The Fault in Our Stars."

Elgort, on the other hand, also took home the Choice Movie Actor: Drama award as well as the Choice Movie Breakout Star recognition.

"I don't surf or anything, so I guess I'm gonna put this on my wall," said Elgort when Taylor Swift handed him the unconventional award. With his signature dimpled smile, the real-life boyfriend of Violetta Komyshan delivered his acceptance speech.

"I wouldn't be up here if it wasn't for the movie 'The Fault in Our Stars' and for the story John Green wrote. It's such an important story," he started.

The New York-born actor also recognized his co-star who was watching him intently: "We were honored to be able to bring it to life. We wanted to bring these characters into life in the most honest way and make it a story about love and about living every moment like it is your last and not worrying about what's gonna happen in the future."

"We didn't want to make a movie about sickness and cancer because this movie is really is about love," he emphasized.

Elgort closed his speech with a heartfelt dedication: "I just hope that we did it justice. My heart goes out to everyone dealing with this illness because cancer sucks. I dedicate this award to them."

The film won the Choice Drama Movie award while Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, and Nat Wolff nabbed the Choice Movie Chemistry award.

Meanwhile, Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort continue to film for "Insurgent" which hit theater screens on March 2015.
