Dwayne ‘The Rock’ News: Johnson’s Internet Death Hoax Dismissed, Banged Up Mother And Cousin Alive After Car Accident

Dwayne 'The Rock' News: It was only last Sunday that Dwayne Dougles 'The Rock' Johnson posted pictures of her mom and cousin's badly-damaged car in his Instagram after it met  a head-on collision with another car on August 2. The accident happened in Clermont, Florida and had a full investigation later on with the The Lake County Sheriff's Department doing a manhunt for the guilty drunk woman driver.

Dwayne further wrote a caption saying "My mom & cousin...were struck head on by a drunk driver this week - they lived...First reaction is to find the person who did this and do unrelenting harm to them. But then you realize the most important thing is my family lived thru this and we can hug each other that much tighter these days."

The caption was seen with hashtags: #BearHugsAndGratitude, #100PercentPreventable, and #ChoicesMatter.

Ata Naivia-Johnson (The Rock's mother) and Savilina 'Lina' Fanene (his cousin and a WWE Diva) is said to driving home using their 2012 Cadicallac Escalade, a car that the Hercules' star gave as a Christmas gift after Ata successfully recovered from stage 3 lung cancer, when the collision happened. They were attending charity event earlier that day. The driver of the other car is reported to suffer 'facial injuries and was taken to the hospital' as what sources said.

Dwayne, however, was happy to share later on that his mother and cousin were safe in the hospital. Pictures of a fully-recovered Savelina sitting in her hospital bed and the Rock can also be seen in Savelina's Instagram.

Earlier that week, news circulated on Facebook that The Rock is dead after an unknown source wrote an obituary for him in his About Page. The statement led 86% of respondent from a survey conducted by the Celebrity Post to believe in the death hoax.

Representatives from The Rock's camp later clarified and told netizens to dismiss the fake report saying "He (The Rock) joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet."
