Maria Sharapova And Boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov On The Rocks? Roland Garros Champion Concentrates On Tennis Career And US Open 2014 Despite Bulgarian’s Flirtations

Maria Sharapova has transferred the trouble that she has been facing after winning Roland Garros 2014 to her relationship with boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov. Not only did Maria Sharapova fall to the wayside on the most recent ‘Sexiest Female Tennis Player’ poll, she failed to perform well in Wimbledon, Rogers Cup and more. Meanwhile, Grigor Dimitrov has been saying the sweetest things on the media, but she has not said anything back. Is Maria Sharapova’s eyes only on the prize at the U.S. Open 2014?

The 23-year-old Bulgarian tennis champ loves to talk about his relationship with the Russian beauty. He can’t help it! When an interviewer asked him if he would ever play mixed doubles with his girlfriend Maria Sharapova, he said, “Anytime, anytime”. But when the 27-year-old Roland Garros champion was asked the same, she replied negatively. She didn’t even have a playful or flirty banter to lift the mood!

She said, "I would probably not play a Grand Slam mixed doubles, even though he wants to," she said. "But we'd have fun. We do in practice occasionally. But he's much better and I don't want to make myself look bad."

Looks like the Russian tennis player is feeling the pressure from not performing well since the clay courts of Roland Garros. She flunked out in the early stages of Wimbledon 2014 and at Rogers Cup in Montreal.

On the other hand, her boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov has been seeing more success in the later tournaments. He reached the semi finals at both Wimbledon and Rogers Cup, showing consistency that his girlfriend failed to display.

But he attempts to keep their relationship in the positive light. He told the reporter that his relationship with Maria Sharapova is “the best thing that could ever happen to you”.

“But it’s not easy,” he continued, “With travel, media, the gym, practice, we hardly see each other. On the other hand, we truly understand each other. We know what sacrifice is.”

Let’s hope that Maria Sharapova doesn’t ditch her caring boyfriend for the U.S. Open 2014!
