Will Iggy Azalea And Lil Kim Collaboration Repeat Success Of Ariana Grande’s Problem?

Breakout star Iggy Azalea is rumored to be releasing a new collaboration with hip-hop veteran Lil Kim. This reveal comes on the heels of Iggy Azalea's newest single "Black Widow" which pairs the star with British songstress Rita Ora.

After Azalea's worldwide success with Ariana Grande in the hit "Problem," could the Australian rapper's choice to team up with Lil Kim bring her even more acclaim?

Recently, Azalea's producer, rapper T.I. told New York radio station Hot 97 that a collaboration between the "Fancy" hitmaker and Lil Kim was in the works.

"I got a call from Kim. She said it's time to find that record to get [an Iggy collaboration] done."

Lil Kim showed her support for Iggy Azalea's rise to fame in May on Twitter, posting "'@IGGYAZALEA: Fancy is now the number 2 record in America on the top 100. crazy.' I LOVE this song babe !!!!! Congrats!!!"

The interviewer of Hot 97's "Ebro in the Morning Show" attempted to ask T.I. about the alleged feud between Iggy Azalea and Nicki Minaj, as well as the supposed beef between Minaj and Lil Kim. The "Paperwork" rapper reflectively responded, "Well, in the game of chess, you must think five moves ahead, protect your pieces and cover the board."

Due to the widely speculated bad blood between rap superstars Minaj and Kim, fans may wonder whether the move by Azalea will cause any more tension in the female rap scene. Only time will tell.

However, the real question is whether or not Azalea can create another collaborative smash like she did with Ariana Grande's "Problem." That single not only went platinum, but also earned Azalea and Grande three MTV Video Music Awards and a Teen Choice Award.

Billboard also listed "Problem" as one of the "10 Best Songs of 2014 (so far)."

With Azalea and Kim uniting different generations of hip-hop, the results could very well lead to another win.
