She and Him Announces New Album, Releases Video Teaser [VIDEO]

She and Him have announced plans of dropping a new album, and released a video teaser for it.

She and Him, the duo comprised by Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward, will release their new album entitled "Classics" this fall, reported Pitchfork.

Billboard reported that unlike their previous albums "Volume One," "Volume Two," "A Very She and Him Christmas" and "Volume Three," which were all released by Merge, their latest offering will be released under Columbia Records, a Sony Music subsidiary run by Rob Stringer.

She and Him new album will include 13 covers of classic tracks being backed by a 20-piece orchestra.

"We are incredibly excited to release a record of our favorite songs. It was a dream of ours to record these songs in a way that highlighted the brilliance of the songwriting and the beauty of their melodies. We had a wonderful time making the record and we hope people have a wonderful time listening to it," Deschanel reportedly said in a statement.

The duo is the second act to leave the Chapel-Hill, North Carolina label in recent months. Spoon, who signed to the label in 2000, left for Loma Vista Label. Arcade Fire, Merge's most popular artists, looked to Reflektor to promote its latest album.

Deschanel and Ward met in 2007. Their first album was produced by Ward and reportedly sold 311,000 copies.

While known widely as an actress, Deschanel has a fruitful albeit brief musical history. In 2001, she formed a jazz cabaret act in Los Angeles and performed in songs in films. She also wrote and sang the theme song to her sitcom "The New Girl."

Ward started as a solo artist with his debut album "Duet for Guitar #2", released in 1999. He came into the limelight and garnered national attention in 2003 for his album "Transfiguration of Vincent." Apart from his act with Deschanel and his solo work, Ward is also a member of Monsters of Folk.
