Calvin Harris Backlash: Refuses To Talk About Personal Life To Media While Putting Ex-Girlfriend Rita Ora On Blast For Publicly Accusing Him Of Canceling Her Teen Choice Awards Performance

DJ Calvin Harris struck back at ex-girlfriend Rita Ora on Wednesday for publicly accusing him of cancelling her performance of their hit song "I Will Never Let You Down" at this past weekend's Teen Choice Awards.

In a Twitter statement, Harris condemned discussing personal affairs with the media, opting instead to tell the public directly through the social media site that he had a "damn good reason" for the cancellation. But is his vague explanation a public shaming of his ex Rita Ora?

"You'll only know 1 side of the story RE Teen choice awards because I choose not to talk to the papers about every aspect of my personal life," Harris wrote on Twitter, following his remarks with a hand waving emoji.

This outburst, albeit tame, comes after Ora's recent interview with DJ Ryan Seacrest in which she stated that her scheduled performance at the Teen Choice Awards was vetoed by Harris at the last minute.

"[Calvin] wrote and produced the song... he owns the rights to it... so [he] has to approve anything TV-wise." Ora went on to claim that Harris "didn't approve the Teen Choice Awards."

Ora also admitted to Seacrest that she was angry about the situation, explaining that her anger was "for my fans" rather than for "my own selfish reasons."

The Teen Choice Awards situation has Ora singing a different tune about Harris. In the September issue of Glamour, Ora claimed to have only positive feelings towards Harris. "I adore [Calvin] and he's such an amazing human being." Concerning their breakup, Ora went on to say, "It wasn't about 'us'. It was about the world we live in... We both work really hard. We're both all over the place."

So, what does this weekend's Teen Choice Awards debacle mean for the future of their hit collaboration "I Will Never Let You Down"? If Ora has anything to say about it, this weekend was just a bump in the road.

"It was a last-minute change, but you know what, it happens and we move on and move forward," she told Seacrest. "You know, you write a song with somebody, and I guess there's some stuff that comes with it... Everything happens for a reason, that's how I look at it."
