Moto 360 Watch Price, Release Date: Specs Of Android Wear Smartwatch Geared To Impress; $249 Tag On ‘Summer’ Launch

Moto 360 Watch price, release date: Specs of the Android Wear-powered Moto 360 Watch is geared to impress, reports suggest. The device, which will fuse both the classic design of a timepiece with the advance features of today’s wearables, is said to have a custom OLED display that will prolong battery life.

Motorola has yet to give a specific date on when the Moto 360 Watch will be available, only suggesting that it will be ready this “summer.” The company has also hinted that it maybe launched for around $249, which is a bit more expensive than LG G Watch’s $229 price and the Samsung Gear Live’s $200 tag.

The Moto 360 Watch’s OLED screens will consume 40 percent less power when displaying black images than LCDs due to its ability to turn off pixels. The move and aim of Motorola to ensure that their wearable will have a longer lasting battery is due to the impressive tests its competitors, the LG G Watch and Samsung’s smartwaches have, passed on its battery life.

TechRadar noted that Samsung and LG wearables can last up to a day and a half when fully charged. It’s a challenge then that Moto 360 Watch has to meet once it’s out in the market – to make sure that it can last longer than that time frame.

There is still no guarantee that the Moto 360 Watch will be out in the market soon, but many wearable watchers are hoping that we could see this before the official start of the fall. It’s very possible that the Moto 360 Watch could be one of the company’s big bet for holiday sales this coming season.

Competitors of the Moto 360 Watch already in the market include the LG G Watch, the Samsung line of wearables, and Pebble Steel. Another upcoming competition that may go head to head with the Moto 360 Watch is the upcoming HTC One Wear.
