Big Bang Taeyang's Solo Album Ranks Second On Japan Oricon Chart

Taeyang is unstoppable and on his way to becoming one of the biggest K-pop artists in the industry.

The Big Bang member's solo debut album "RISE [+SOLAR &HOT]" ranked No. 2 on the Oricon chart, selling 48,460 copies since its release.

The album, which features 29 songs, including both the original and Japanese versions of his hit tracks, was also seen ranking No. 1 on the iTunes Pop Album Chart as well.

The R&B singer's DVD also features Japanese versions of all eleven of his music videos as well as behind the scenes footage of his preparation for his recent "Rise" album.

Taeyang is currently on his "SOL JAPAN TOUR 'RISE' 2014" solo event in Japan and is giving his all for local fans.

"I always wanted to do a solo concert, matter how big the venues are. I just wanted to become one with you. Thank you," stated the dancer and singer towards the end of his recent concert.

For his tour in Japan, Taeyang will be heading to six major cities in Japan, meeting with approximately 70,000 fans in the process, according to the publication StarN.

Taeyang, who has been described as "the type whose understanding of music and dance are really deep" by YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun-suk, started playing piano at a young age, sparking his interest in music.

Although Taeyang is one of the most highly-publicized artists in the K-pop industry, the artist feels that people still don't know the real Taeyang.

"I didn't create my image that way. Since I debuted, I told the press that I never had a girlfriend. At the time, I didn't have a girlfriend and I don't have one now. I date girls, but I'm not seeing anyone in particular. I feel like my image was shaped into a certain way. And I don't like it. That's not me. Inside me there are many features that are rebellious. I could be very negative about a lot of things. If I like someone, I'm very polite. But if I don't feel a connection to someone, I don't even acknowledge that person. I'm just very honest about my feelings," stated Taeyang during an interview with the publication Noonchi.
