Spotify VS. Google Music: Streaming Services Pitted In Terms Of Price, Feature, Quality & New Releases; Which Provider Would You Pick?

Spotify VS. Google Music: A streaming music service is a must have and two major players in the field are Spotify and Google Music. In this comparison review, we pit these service providers against each other in terms of price, feature, quality and new releases.

According to PC Advisor, Spotify is the biggest player in the music streaming market, but it’s not the only choice available in the burgeoning field. Google Music is only worth considering as a streaming service provider.

Price and subscription
The streaming model is different from Google, in a sense that an advert is something you’ll have to endure while using the service if you’ll opt for the free version. Google Music, on the other hand, allows you to listen to individual tracks or albums you have purchased – pricing, however, for albums is very affordable.

Both Spotify and Google Music offer premium services. Spotify is offered at $9.99 per month while Google Music All Access is available for $9.99 a month.

Features
PC Advisor notes that featured offerings on both Spotify and Google music are very similar, with very small key differences.

Streaming quality
Both subscriptions stream at a maximum of 320kbps, which is satisfactory for most users. A monthly paid subscription will allow you to stream your music at a faster speed.

New releases
Spotify has more than 20 million songs available to stream and it promises to add up to 20,000 new songs per day. Most of these songs, however, PC Advisor U.K. notes is never listened to, making quanity insignificant when itn comes to assessing its library. Google Music has slightly less in terms of inventory available.

What’s important is if either service carries the latest released album or single, which is essentially and usually available from both service.

Verdict
Based on these factors, the answer to which service provider you’ll choose is practically irrelevant. But one key thing you’ll need to consider, however, is where you’re subscribing from.

A quick search shows that Google Music All Access is not available in some countries and the cost is seemingly the same at $9.99. However, Spotify has different pricing for countries and could be as expensive as $18.42 per month or as cheap as $2.93 depending on which location you’re subscribing from.
