Trisha Yearwood's new album is in the works and she will be joining husband Garth Brooks for a tour.

Country superstar Trisha Yearwood's new album after seven years of hiatus has finally been announced, much to the delight of her avid fans.

The Grammy-winning singer signed with Sony Music Nashville for her new project, said a report by The Tennessean.

Trisha Yearwood's new album entitled "PrizeFighter" is her twelfth studio album. Her last record was called "Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love" in 2007.

In an interview with Billboard magazine, Yearwood shares how the song "PrizeFighter" included in the album of the same name, calls to mind her mother who had died from cancer in 2011 and people who have been struggling with different battles in life.

"'Prizefighter' is an empowering song about just staying in the fight," said Yearwood about the track. "When I hear this song I see everything about my mom. I think about her. I think about the soldiers I visited at Walter Reed [National Military Medical Center]. I think about little kids going to school and getting bullied."

But apart from her latest recording endeavor, Yearwood will be busy touring with her husband Garth Brooks this fall.

"We said when we got married almost nine years ago now that we didn't want to be together to be apart," Yearwood said in a report on Entertainment Tonight. "We get to play music for a living, and then we get to be together."

Brooks also commented on the dynamics of their relationship and said: "We make every effort we can to be together at all times and that's what's going to keep us together."

Yearwood and Brooks will start their tour on September 4 in Chicago.

She will also be back on television come August 23, for the fifth season of her Emmy-winning cooking show "Trisha's Southern Kitchen" and will reportedly release her third cookbook next spring.
