Spiderman’s Emma Stone Will Make Professional Singing and Broadway Debut in `Cabaret’

"The Amazing-Spiderman" actress Emma Stone is in talks to play Sally Bowles in "Cabaret." Spidey's love interest in 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' is may make her Broadway debut in a production of 'Cabaret'

Stone could appear as Sally Bowles in the Broadway production that currently stars Michelle Williams.

According to a statement from the Roundabout Theatre Company on Monday, the "Amazing Spider-Man" and "Zombieland" star would join the cast when Williams ends her run on Nov. 9. "Cabaret" will play a limited run through Jan. 4.

Emma Stone had already been attached to "Cabaret" but couldn't get around scheduling problems and dropped out. Stone has been more active in TV and film than in live theater since she performed at Valley Youth Theater, a children's company in Phoenix, Ariz.

Cabaret's cast isn't changing. It still stars Alan Cumming as the M.C., Linda Emond continues on in her role as Fraulein Schneider and Danny Burstein will keep his uniform on as Herr Schultz. The revival of "Cabaret" opened in April.

Stone hasn't sung in the movies or onstage yet. Stone sang Pat Benatar's "We Belong" and Meredith Brooks' "Bitch" when she competed for the role of Laurie Partridge in the pilot for the 2004 reality show, "In Search of the New Partridge Family" for VH1. "The New Partridge Family," was never picked up for production.

Stone is next set to star with Michael Keaton in Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu's upcoming film, "Birdman," which is scheduled for release on October 17.

Stone plays with Colin Firth in "Magic in the Moonlight," Woody Allen's new romantic comedy.

Cabaret made its Broadway debut in 1966. It was made into a classic film starring Liza Minnelli as Sally in 1972.  "Cabaret" is set in 1931 Berlin at the Kit Kat Klub.
