Amy Winehouse statue unveiled  in Camden. A life-size statue of "Rehab" singer Amy Winehouse will be unveiled in the London neighborhood she called home. Winehouse was born and brought up in North London and maintained close tieds to the Borough Of Camden.

The Amy Winehouse Statue was designed by Scott Eaton. It will be erected at the Stables market not far from the house where she died in July 2011.

Mitch Winehouse told local press "I had a meeting with Camden council and they told me they don't usually allow statues until 20 years after someone has died, but in Amy's case they made an exception. It's a great honor to have the statue in the Stables. Amy was an integral part of Camden and still is, so you couldn't really think of putting a statue for her anywhere else, could you really?"

Amy Winehouse died on July 23, 2011 at the age of 27. Amy Winehouse had been suffering health issues that were reported to be emphysema and other ailments. Years of drug use and alcohol abuse ravaged Amy Winehouse. Amy Winehouse's death was ruled the result of accidental alcohol poisoning.

Last year, Camden scheduled a month's worth of events in a tribute to Winehouse on what would have been her 30th birthday. The Jewish Museum in Camden opened a 10-week exhibition titled "Amy Winehouse: A Family Portrait" in July.

The Amy Winehouse statue was supposed to be unveiled in Camden, in the north part of London, last year but Mitch Winehouse, Amy Winehouse's dad, was unhappy with the final design that the artist Scott Eaton came up with for the bronze likeness, and delayed the unveiling.

The Winehouse family set up the Amy Winehouse Foundation.
