"There is trouble in paradise," according to Nick Cannon about his marriage to wife Mariah Carey, The Belfast Telegraph reported.

Cannon, host of the 'America's Got Talent,' has put to rest unconfirmed break-up rumors with singer Carey by admitting on Thursday that he has been living away from his wife for months now.

Cannon and Carey married in 2008 and have three children, twins Moroccan and Monroe and Nick. The divorce rumors have been circulating for a while with many speculating that infidelity is the reason behind the marriage trouble.

However, Cannon in The Insider interview, did not expound on the reasons but stressed that his primary focus are his children.

Although Cannon wouldn't divulge more other than confirming the separation, reports that have been published during the past days with TMZ saying that the two couples are now talking to lawyers about divorce, property division and the custody of their children.

The Wrap meanwhile reported that the problem started after Cannon's appearance in Big Boy's Radio Show. It stated that Cannon's mention of Kim Kardashian, as one of the women he had sex with, did not sit well with the multi-awarded singer.

E News sources reported that Cannon's busy work schedule and choices is also one of the reasons for the separation. Carey was reportedly angry at her husband's usual absence at home.

Carey and Cannon have a home in New York City with their children but the TV star's work makes him spend more time in Los Angeles. It was also reported that Cannon is frustrated at the belief that he need not work that much because his wife, Carey is rich enough to support them.

Carey is considered one of the most successful recording artist having sold multi-million music records.

The E News article further added that the impending divorce is something that Carey has been planning for a long time and mending fences is less likely to happen between the two.
