Install Android 4.4.4 KitKat Update On Samsung Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7100; OmniROM Custom Firmware Released For 2012 Phablet

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 users can now install Android 4.4.4 KitKat update, although via a custom firmware.

The specs list for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 on GSM Arena noted that that latest and official update made available for the 2012 phablet was Android 4.4.2 KitKat. But thanks to custom Android developers, Samsung Galaxy Note 2 owners can now install Android 4.4.4 KitKat update, Google's latest mobile operating system.

Particularly, Samsung Galaxy Note 2 users can install Android 4.4.4 KitKat update via the official OmniROM nightly build. The custom firmware is compatible for the GT-N7100 model, according to a report on International Business Times.

Android users should know that installing custom and unofficial firmware can cause damage to the device, especially when the procedures are not done properly. To install Android 4.4.4 KitKat update on Samsung Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7100, follow the detailed procedures posted on this IB Times post.  

But before proceeding to upgrade the phablet with OmniROM firmware based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat update, there are some conditions to meet first.

Make sure that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 you own is the GT-N7100. Installing Android 4.4.4 KitKat update via OmniROM on the wrong device can damage the unit.

The battery level of Samsung Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7100 should be 80 percent or higher.

Enable USB Debugging mode on the 2012 phablet. To Do so, simple go to Settings > Developer Options.
