After campaigning for the lead role in "The Amazing Spider-Man," and losing said role, "Community" star Donald Glover has finally been cast as his favorite superhero in Disney XD's animated series "Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors."

Glover will be voicing Miles Morales, the half-Hispanid, half-black predecessor of Peter Parker who was created for the Ultimate Marvel universe as a result of Glover's highly supported bid for the role on social media.

Glover's will appear on the show when Peter Parker, voiced by Drake Bell, tracks the Green Goblin across various universes.

Parker will stumble across Morales, the Brooklyn-born high school student who has taken over the role of Spider Man since the death of this universe's Peter.

The character of Miles was created for the Ultimate Marvel comics after writer Brian Michael Bendis learned of Glover's "Amazing Spider-Man" campaign and saw Glover appear on NBC's "Community" dressed in Spider-Man pajamas.

"I saw him in the costume and thought, 'I would like to read that book,'" Bendis told USA Today.

"I don't think it's hit me necessarily yet how big of a deal that is." Glover told USA Today, referring to the creation of Morales. "I'm very grateful for that, and it's cool to read the comic now."

According to the Vice President of Marvel's animation division, Stephen Wacker, Donald's portrayal of 13-year-old Miles is a perfect fit for the character.

"If you've read Miles Morales comics, Donald's voice nails what you've been reading," Wacker told USA Today.

Glover, who also goes by rap name Childish Gambino, told the publication, "[It's] a lot of pressure for a kid to be yourself and have all this responsibility. Miles is really brave, and that's a cool attribute to have when you're that young."

The new season of the Disney XD show airs on Sunday at 9 a.m. [ET/PT] and the "Spider-Verse" series of episodes will air next year.
