Michael Schumacher news update reveals the high regard of Scuderia Ferrari's Fernando Alonso for the seven-time F1 champion. Meanwhile, wife Corinna takes time off from caring for her husband as she attended the World Equestrian Games.

In a short video posted on the official Ferrari website, the two-time champion talked about the great names in the history of racing that he would have liked to see on the track with.

He mentioned Niki Luada, Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost, whom he grew up watching. "If I could I would have a battle with them and also in those old cars, the ones I played with as a kid when they were our heroes," Alonso said.

However, his greatest rival was still Michael Schumacher, whom he called the "strongest in Formula 1."

"In the years when I was starting in Formula 1, in 2011 he dominated and he did so up until 2005 and he was on another level. With him it was never easy," Fernando Alonso said.

"Then, I got the opportunity to race against him on equal terms for a few years and he was always able to do something special, something more than you were expecting or maybe more than the car was capable of," Fernando Alonso added.

In other Michael Schumacher news update, his wife Corinna was snapped while making a appearance at the second day of the World Equestrian Games in France last Tuesday, where she served as the official ambassador.

It was a rare appearance for the 45-year-old who was always by her husband's side ever since Michael Schumacher lapsed into a coma following a skiing accident last year.

In an earlier Michael Schumacher news update, the race car driver will reportedly get a microchip implant that will help him talk and walk. The revolutionary procedure will be done by Darko Chudy and Vedran Deletis who will supposedly implant the microchip in his brain to help him regain control of his motor skills.
