La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona inspires awe with its unorthodox architecture. In the manner of the medieval cathedrals it emulates, it is still under construction after more than 100 years. It attracts around 2.8 million visitors a year and is the most visited monument in Spain. The creative genius behind La Sagrada Familia was Antoni Gaudi whose works distinctly showed his passions -- architecture, nature and religion. La Sagrada Familia was his last endeavor. Upon his death in 1926, only a relatively small portion of the churc has been completed. Construction is expected to be finished in 2026, on the 100-year anniversary of Gaudi's death.
