Carrie Underwood is pregnant! The "American Idol" winner took to Twitter on Labor Day to announce that she and husband Mike Fisher are expecting their first child.

"In honor of 'Labor' Day, Ace & Penny would like to make an announcement. Their parents couldn't be happier..." the country singer wrote alongside a photo in which she snuggled with her two dogs.

The picture showed one of the "Blown Away" crooner's pooches wearing an "I'm going to be a big sister" outfit, while the other was dressed in one that read "I'm going to be a big brother."

"They couldn't be happier to be starting a family," a source told Us Weekly, which confirmed the baby news with Underwood's rep.

NHL star Fisher also confirmed that his wife is pregnant with a playful Twitter post.

"We haven't picked names yet but it's looking like Fly is gonna fly. #boyorgirl #flyfisher," wrote Fisher.

The Nashville Predators player suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon during the offseason and is expected to return in four to six months, which should give him plenty of time to spend with his pregnant wife.

Underwood has another big project in the works. The country superstar recently announced that she would be joined by eleven NFL stars for a rendition of Sunday Night Football's opening theme song "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night."

According to Rolling Stone, the video for the theme, a reworking of Joan Jett's "I Hate Myself for Loving You," was shot in L.A. and will be shown in movie theatres across the country to spur excitement for the September 7^th debut of SNF.

Underwood and her football star crew also filmed the opening for Super Bowl XLIX.

The busy mom-to-be did take some time for herself recently, however. The star posted pictures of a weekend spent at the beach on Aug. 30, striking a pose with her yet-to-be-seen baby bump.
