YG Family 2014 Galaxy Tour: Power In Shanghai
On August 30, 35,000 fans filled the Shanghai Stadium to witness YG Family's inaugural concert in China!
To kickstart the concert were the four powerful divas of YG - 2NE1 with 'Crush' from their latest album. Fans could not stop screaming when the quartet continued with their hits, such as 'Come Back Home', which reminded every one of the futuristic music video that was specially shot for the song. They also performed their other hits 'Fire' and 'Gotta Be Home'.
With the ambience fully charged, EPIK HIGH came on stage with 'With You', a familiar tune with the Chinese crowd as this song was originally a collaboration between BIBIZHOU(周笔畅) and the 3-member alternative hip-hop group, before launching into their 2007 hit 'Love Love Love'!
Next to perform was the latest boyband from YG, after a drought of 8 years - WINNER! The 5 lads who had won all 3 rounds of public voting in the reality-survival program 'WIN : Who Is Next? ', did not disappoint and made the fans all excited. They sang 'Go Up', 'Empty' and 'Smile Again' which definitely got the crowd smiling to no end.
To bring the heat up a notch, BIG BANG appeared onstage, dressed in gold outfits. Obviously the crowd's favourite, the 5 members united the fans into a huge 'karaoke' session, belting their hits ' Haru Haru', 'Bad Boy' and 'Fantastic Baby', while waving light sticks which featured top golden crowns.
The highlight of the concert came after individual performances by the groups. There were many unique collaborations such as CL and GD transforming 'The Baddest Female' into 'The Baddest Male', thereafter performing 'MTBD' together in front of the Chinese audience.
SEUNGRI, on the other hand attempted to sing GD's solo 'Crayon' in a comical manner, making the fans squeal in delight! WINNER's SONG MIN HO and DARA performed T.O.P's 'Doom Da Da'" while EPIK HIGH and TAEYANG performed 'Eyes, Nose Lips'. The collaboration was indeed special for the fans as these performances could only be seen at YG Family Concert.
After the interesting collaboration segment, PSY, 2NE1 and BIG BANG came back for their individual stages again. PSY started with his global phenomena 'Gangnam Style' before moving on to sing 'Right Now','Gentleman' and 'Champion', fully entertaining the strong crowd.
2NE1 appeared next with the crowd chanting while they performed 'I Am The Best', 'Scream' and 'Can't Nobody', bringing the house down.
Needless to say, the final act of the night went to BIG BANG with their well-known hits 'Tonight', 'Feeling', 'Hands Up', 'Lies' and 'Heaven', leaving everyone gasping for air from all the excitement.
After much enthusiasm from the fans, the entire YG Family appeared on stage for an encore performance which started with 2NE1's 'Go Away', BIG BANG's 'Fantastic Baby' and PSY's 'Gangnam Style'! It had been a hugely enjoyable night for most of the fans, despite the fact that most will wake up with a sore-throat the following morning.
YG FAMILY 2014 GALAXY TOUR will next land on the sunny shores of Singapore this September 13 and 14, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Make sure you've gotten your tickets, it's not every day that one gets watch the talented artists of YG performing all under one roof!
