Upcoming Nokia Phones 2014: Meet Probably The Slimmest Lumia Ever, Lumia 830 Touted To Get Only 10MP Rear Shooter?

In previous reports, one of the two upcoming Nokia phones for 2014 which would be announced at the IFA, has been expected to be a midrange device with some high-end specs.

To put that simply, the Nokia Lumia 830 was tipped to get a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 - midrange, and a 20MP PureView camera - high-end, at the same time.

Apparently, only the former is actually true for the WP 8.1-powered handset.

According to a report by GSM Arena, Chinese website WPDang reports that instead of a 20MP shooter, the Lumia 830 would only get a 10MP primary camera, which would officially place the smartphone within the midrange group.

The decision for Nokia to put a 10MP snapper instead of a 20MP camera may be strictly for marketing purposes. The current flagship from the mobile phone maker is the Lumia 930, and it comes complete with year-old high end specs in a Snapdragon 800 chipset and 2GB of RAM with 20MP camera.

That means placing a 20MP on the Lumia 830 and pairing it with a Snapdragon 400 would yield a cheaper price tag. As a result, the smartphone would most likely be preferred over the flagship.

In the report, the upcoming Nokia phone is also tipped to be the slimmest member of the Lumia family due to its midrange specs, and a lower resolution camera which means a thinner lens as well.

Aside from the Nokia Lumia 830 midranger, Microsoft and Nokia are also expected to unleash its 'Superman' or 'selfie' smartphone, the Lumia 730.

In previous rumors and reports, the Lumia 730 will come with a 5MP front cam, which is the highest resolution for a secondary camera in a Windows Phone. However, reports are not yet clear whether the device will sport a 6.5MP or 8MP primary shooter at the back.

We'll expect these Nokia Lumia duo in the coming days during the IFA event in Berlin.
