Block B’s Zico To Make Fashion Week Debut With Designer Go Taeyong

Boy group Block B member Zico is making his way up to being K-pop's top fashionista.

The idol member will be collaborating with one of Korea's top designers, Go Taeyong, for the "2015 S/S New York Fashion Week," according to the Korean publication Osen Entertainment.

Zico will be taking on the role of the music director at the Concept Korea "Beyond Closet School Gang" event, which will be held at the Lincoln Center in New York on September 9 at 1PM.

"Beyond Closet School Gang" will be showcasing a collection of preppy and classic wear mixed with the right amount of masculinity, according to the media outlet. Zico is expected to be playing the hits of Block B, including "Very Good," "No Joke," "Halo" and more.

Go Taeyong and Zico met during the filming of the SBS program Fashion King Korea.

The upcoming Fashion Week event is the perfect opportunity for Zico to showcase his skills as one of K-pop's leading artists. He's expected to play songs that he produced himself during the course of the event as well.

Zico's important role in the fashion event will also be a way for him to promote his group.

The seven-member boy band recently wrapped up their first solo concert in Japan titled "2014 Blockbuster in Japan," performing at Sunghwali and Osaka. The K-pop group reportedly performed for a total of 10,000 local fans in Japan.

They made headlines amongst local media outlets as they spoke in Japanese with their fans, stating, "Although we're not the best at Japanese, we're happy to have been able to interact with our fans a little bit more by speaking their language. We want to be able to speak with our fans in their native language during our future overseas performances as well."

Block B has been skyrocketing to fame as of late as they've been topping music charts with their most recent single, "Her." The boys were even featured on an article on the Billboard website for its quirky, unique music video for the track.

"In the boy band's latest, the viewer is hit with an array of quick shots showing the boys mini-golfing, jumping on top of golf carts, falling off bicycles, throwing golf clubs, burping bubbles and more as the band sings through the first verse. As we're introduced to the guys' individual styles - such as P.O's bright-pink hair radiating on the screen - it's certainly worth hitting the replay button to make sure you catch all the hilariously random moments," wrote the music magazine.
