The Seoul International Drama Awards marked its nine-year anniversary on September 4, 2014. The award ceremony is known to promote drama not only from Korea, but countries such as Turkey, Germany, Norway, Sri Lanka, Spain, France, England, and Taiwan as well. 

The two-hour award show was broadcasted live on SBS with Sung-Rok Shin and Se-Yeon Jin as the hosts for the night. Additionally, festive music was provided by Sistar, Lyn, Block B, and B1A4 during the award ceremony making the award show delightful for people of all ages.

The Grand Prize winner for the night was an International drama from France called Kaboul Kitchen S2. The first season made it into the same mini-series category, but did not take home an award back in 2012.

Another big winner for the night was the Korean SBS drama, My Love From The Star, which took home a total of three awards: Excellent Korean Drama, Outstanding Korean Actor (Kim Soo Hyun) and Outstanding Korean Drama OST (Lyn's "My Destiny"). Along with My Love From The Star, another SBS drama, 'The Inheritors' (also known as 'The Heirs'), came in second place for the Outstanding Korean Drama category, proving that Korean dramas are a smash hit internationally.

Along with those two critically acclaimed shows, there were other dramas from around the world that won awards in the categories of best TV Movie, Mini-series, and Serial Drama categories.

For TV Movie, Spain took home to the Golden Bird Prize for their drama Barefoot on Red Soil and Sweden's The Fat & The Angry won the Silver Bird prize. For the Mini-series category, Norway's Mammon won the Golden Bird prize and Korean KBS drama Good Doctor won the Silver Bird prize. Lastly, for the Serial Drama Category, aother Korean series, MBC's Empress Ki, won the Golden Bird prize and Turkey's Medcezir won the Silver Bird prize.

Another successful year where many dramas were praised for the amount of work and effort they put in to produce the best quality entertainment for their viewers. TV fans are definitely looking foward to more fun dramas in the upcoming year!
