Ray Rice’s Wife Slams Media For Reliving Video; Ravens Running Back Claims They’re ‘In Good Spirits’ Amid Controversy

Ray Rice's wife slammed the media for reportedly making their family "relive a moment in our lives that we regret every day," as the Ravens' running back said that they are "in good spirits" amid the controversy.

Janay Palmer, Ray Rice's wife, finally broke her silence on her Instagram account on Tuesday after a graphic video of the couple surfaced and which prompted the running back's contract termination and his indefinite suspension from the NFL.

The video showed Ray Rice punching Janay Palmer, who was then his fiancé. The incident took place at the elevator of the Revel Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The said establishment has since closed, said a report by the Baltimore Sun.

In her post, she said: "I woke up this morning feeling like I had a horrible nightmare, feeling like I'm mourning the death of my closest friend. But to have to accept the fact that it's reality is a nightmare in itself."

"No one knows the pain that [the] media & unwanted options from the public has caused my family. To make us relive a moment in our lives that we regret every day is a horrible thing. To take something away from the man I love that he has worked his ass [off] for all his life just to gain ratings is horrific," added Ray Rice's wife.

Janay Palmer emphasized: "THIS IS OUR LIFE!"

Meanwhile, the Ravens' running back said during an interview with ESPN as relayed by TMZ that amid all the controversies, he and her wife "are in good spirits."

While he said that he has to "be strong for my wife," Ray Rice also acknowledged that Janay "is so strong."

The Ravens' running back continued to say: "We have a lot of people praying for us and we'll continue to support each other. I have to be there for [Janay] and my family right now and work through this."
