San Antonio Spurs Roster Wants Slovenian Guard Zoran Dragic? Other Suitors Include Miami, Dallas, Indiana, Orlando And Phoenix

The San Antonio Spurs roster may already be complete from all positions, but if we think about it, the rotation is pretty thin on the shooting guard spot.

Indeed, both Manu Ginobili and Marco Bellinelli are experienced players who can sub for each other throughout the game, but without a third option in that position, the Spurs may need backup.

Ray Allen is a possible fit for that role, as he spreads the floor well enough for San Antonio's penetrators to drive, but until now the 38-year-old future Hall of Famer has not decided whether to play in the upcoming season.

And so in his place, San Antonio reportedly has its eyes set on Slovenian guard Zoran Dragic.

The younger Dragic has played well in this year's FIBA World Cup, and shows that he plays well with his older brother Goran. And in the level of play he showcased, a number of NBA teams have reportedly showed their interest.

Some of the teams which are ready to get Zoran from Unicaja Malaga of the Spanish League include the Miami Heat, Indiana Pacers, Dallas Mavericks, Orlando Magic, and Phoenix Suns.

Both the Heat and Indiana have problems with their shooting guard positions as Dwyane Wade is aging and injury prone throughout the past seasons, while Paul George will not be back until next year.

As for Dallas and Orlando, both teams need a veteran guard to space the floor and even make some point guard chores. Dragic's 6'5 frame also helps that he can slide to the 3 spot in some occasions.

Unfortunately, some reports are claiming that the 25-year-old Dragic may sign with the Suns where his brother Goran currently plays.

Of course, nothing is still certain until he signs a contract.
