The always deserted northern Chilean coast of Antofagasta has a natural monument called "La Portada" (or "the Gateway" in English). It is a 140 ft high arch hollowed by the sea and is located just off a cliff close to a small beach. Its proximity to the city make this the perfect viewpoint to see a gorgeous sunset after a day at the beach. Sometimes, thousands of seabirds flock on top of the arch providing a surreal experience.
