The Subaru XV Crosstrek is equipped by a 2L gas Flat-4 engine which is mated to a 5-speed manual, it is an AWD vehicle which offers the user an edge when on off roads and " second best in efficiency as it achieves 23mpg on city roads and 30mpg on highways." Unfortunately, Subaru XV Crosstrek is not powerful because it can only produce 148hp and 145 lbs-ft of torque.

On the other hand, the Mazda CX-5 like the Subaru XV Crosstrek is also equipped with a 2L gas Flat-4 engine which is mated to a 6-speed manual. The FWD produces 155hp with 150 ft-lbs of torque, it is efficient compared to XV Crosstrek because it produces a35mpg on highways.

Furthermore, the cargo capacity of Mazda CX-5 is bigger compared to Subaru XV Crosstrek, it offers 34.1 cubic-feet space while the latter offers 22.3 cubic-feet only.

Moreover, the Crosstrek features climate control airco, heated front seats, hands free calling and Bluetooth connectivity while the CX-5 features one touch windows, cruise control, powered exterior mirror control, power tilt steering wheel and keyless ignition which is not available on Crosstrek.

In terms of price, the Mazda CX-5 Sport comes with $21,395 while the Subaru XV Crosstrek  2.0i Premium is at $21,995.
