iPad Pro Release Date: 12.9" Apple Tablet To Debut In 2015? May Be Disguised As 12-Inch MacBook Air?

Since the beginning of 2014, a lot of Apple fans have already been waiting for the iPad Pro release date. In fact, even its most bitter rival, Samsung, was quietly anticipating the device. And proof of that is the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2, a high-end Android slate that aims to take on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

Unfortunately for the Korean manufacturer, its plan backfired when Apple did not release such a huge tablet. With only Samsung's 12.2-inch slate in the high-end market, it was doomed to fail.

Even a few months after Samsung unveiled its monster Android tablet, there were still rumors that the Apple slate will make its debut sometime by the end of the year, either during the WWDC or during one of the company's two events to launch the new iPhones and iPads.

But now that two of those three events are already in the books, the only hope left for an iPad Pro release date is in October.

However, based on recent rumors and reports, it looks like Apple will push back the announcement of the 12.9-inch tablet until next year.

Based on a note by Ming Chi-Kuo of KGI Securities several weeks ago, the iPad Pro was shelved indefinitely, but may see an announcement early next year.

Meanwhile, previous reports claim that the Cupertino manufacturer is preparing for the first-ever 12-inch MacBook Air which will boast a touch display. That means, it would allegedly be Apple's first ever tablet-laptop hybrid device, and would be the middle ground betwen the 11" and 13" MacBook Air.

If the rumored iPad Pro has a 12.9-inch display, and the reported MacBook Air has 12 inches, there may be a possibility that these two devices are one.

While it is certainly a farfetched prediction, we better get ready for what Apple will have in store next month and early in 2015.
