Taehyun Says WINNER's Break From The 'YG Norm' Was Key To The Group's Success

With concerts, promotions, and appearances on variety shows, the members og YG Entertainment's new boy band WINNER certainly are busy.

Seungyoon, Minho, Taehyun, Jinwoo, and Seunghoon made an appearance on the September 19th episode of 'Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook.' The guys talked about their YG trainee days and what they remember the most.  The group also performed two of their singles, "Missing You" and "Empty."

Host Yoo Hee Yeol was entertained as he listened to the guys talk about their trainee days. One of the questions that Yoo Hee Yeol asked was, "What in particular enabled them to debut as a singer after a lengthy training period?" Nam Taehyun said, "Our departure from the YG norm."

Taehyun explained that the norm at YG Entertainment is hip hop. Though, he did not imitate the other YG artists who were doing the concept of hip hop. Instead, Taehyun said "I gained a lot of interest for my feminine traits rather than the hip hop-style outfits and songs that many YG trainees displayed."
