'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' 2014 Movie Sequel In The Works? 'Transformers' Star Megan Fox & Director Michael Bay Coming Back!

Following the highly successful $65 million opening of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 movie, a sequel and a release date has been confirmed and announced by Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies according to Inside Movies.

Reports suggest that Michael Bay will return to produce the sequel with his partners from Platinum Dunes.

"TMNT" 2014's scribes Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec are also returning to provide a script.

However, there has been no news if director Jonathan Leibesman will be back to helm the sequel.

"To know moviegoers are embracing the Turtles with such enthusiasm is everything that we and all our filmmakers have been hoping for," Brad Grey, Paramount Pictures' CEO and Chairman said in statement. "We are thrilled with this weekend's result, the enduring power of this franchise, and the opportunity to make another one."

"Launching a new take on the Turtles into the feature film world was a daunting task," Adam Goodman, president of Paramount's Film Group, added, "because as fans of them ourselves, we felt a great responsibility to ensure audiences were going to experience everything they loved about the Turtles, while also getting to see them brought to life in a way they had never been seen before. The result exceeded our high expectations and the response to the film is beyond great, making it all the more fun to get started on the continuation of their story."

And while cinemagoers are lining up for the Michael bay's latest box office in the making, female lead star Megan Fox has managed to slam fans telling them to "f**ck off."

During a press conference held in Los Angeles on Aug 1, the former "Transformers" actress said that TMNT detractors that people would still line up to see the "heroes in a half-shell" like what had happened to critically ridiculed "Age of Extinction."

"Let me tell you something about those people," Fox said. "How much money did Transformers 4 make? Exactly. Those people can complain - they all go to the theatre. They're gonna love it - and if they don't love it, they can fuck off, and that's the end of that."
