`Game of Thrones' Actor Cast As Villain in 'Maze Runner' Sequel; Littlefinger Will Now Manipulate The Maze

Game of Thrones actor Aidan Gillen, who plays Littlefinger, but who also playing Thomas Carcetti on The Wire and was seen in the opening sequence of The Dark Knight Rises, has been cast in the sequel to Maze Runner.

Game of Thrones' Littlefinger will play the villain in Maze Runner: Scorch Trials. The sequel to Maze runner, which 20th Century Fox's just announced would have a sequel. Gillen will play Janson, AKA Rat-Man. Janson is a liaison for the organization behind the deadly maze. Gillen's role might be expanded for the film because he's only in the beginning of the book.

The Maze Runner crushed Walk Among the Tombstones last weekend at the box office with a $32.5 million pull.

The Maze Runner stars Dylan O'Brien as Thomas and former Skins actress Kaya Scoledario. The movie also starred Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Will Poulter and Patricia Clarkson.  It was directed by Wes Ball.

The Maze Runner is an adaptation of the James Dashner's Young Adult Novel trilogy. The Scorch Trials adapts James Dashner's second book in the series

In the next installment, the teenagers escaped the maze only to be chased around an Earth is ravaged by solar flares and become a wasteland. The Gladers are now housed in a dormitory where they face new threats.

Pre-production on The Scorch Trials is currently underway in New Mexico. The movie is due to begin shooting at the end of October. The Maze Runner sequel will hit theaters on September 18, 2015, one year to the day after the first movie opened.
