In other news, the band is set to go on a mini tour for a few secret surprise shows in UK as reported by Music Times. And a group of the band's fans headed a crowdfunded concert in Richmond, Virginia is about to happen after Dave Grohl and the rest of the Foos agreed to play in VA.

Meanwhile, a documentary of the band recording will be shown on HBO on October showing Foo Fighters' recording sessions in eight different studios, which will be aptly called "Sonic Highways".

The HBO series will be showing a documented recording session of the rock band in eight different cities including Chicago, Nashville, Los Angeles, Seattle, New Orleans, Washington DC and New York - after they recorded in different legendary studios across the states.

In a press release, Foo Fighters talked about their tour and new album and the release of the HBO TV Series: "One song was recorded in each city, every song featuring local legends sitting in, and every lyric written in an unprecedented experimental style: Dave held off on putting down words until the last day of each session, so as to be inspired by the experiences, interviews and personalities that became part of the process.

"Each episode delves into the singular regional identity of each city-how each region shaped these musicians in their formative years, and in turn the impact those people had on the cultural fabric of their hometowns-ultimately celebrating their common bond: Every artist that appears in the show, regardless of genre or locale, started as an average kid with the universal dreams of making music and making it big."

The series will not only show the recording process of the band but also will be showing the history of American music in the process.

"After making Sound City, I realized that the pairing of music and documentary works well because the stories give substance and depth to the song, which makes for a stronger emotional connection," Grohl said. "So I thought, 'I want to do this again, but instead of just walking into a studio and telling its story, I want to travel across America and tell its story.'"

"It's basically the history of American music broken down to the cultural roots of each place," Grohl said, describing the as-yet-untitled documentary. "Why did Chicago become a blues capital? Why did country go to Nashville? Why did the first psychedelic band, Thirteenth Floor Elevators, come from Austin? How did the second line rhythm make its way to New Orleans? It's crazy."

The HBO TV Series will premiere on the band's 20th Anniversary and Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl directed the TV show. The series will then continue until the Foo Fighters' new album would be released.
