Derrick Rose News: Is 2011 MVP Ready To Take Role As Primary Facilitator Instead Of The Only Go-To Guy In Chicago?

Derrick Rose news: If you are a fan of the Chicago Bulls, then you are definitely looking forward for Return 2.0 of former MVP and superstar Derrick Rose.

Last season, Rose sort-of returned after a year of recovery from his torn ACL injury, and while he showed glimpses of his old self, he was still rusty back then.

Just when everyone thought that the point guard is geared for better performances, he was hit with another injury, this time on his left knee with a torn meniscus.

After waiting for another year, are Bulls fans finally getting what they deserve? A trip back to the Eastern Conference Finals? Not just quite.

With all the talent in this year's roster, it would be difficult for the Bulls to run as a team without intensive ball movement. And situation calls for Rose's playmaking skills.

On average, Rose has been putting up 6.8 assists per game in his career, which is already impressive considering that he has averaged close to 21 points per game in his 5-year career with Chicago.

But this season, the Bulls will need the playmaking side of Rose more often.

Through the years, the NBA as a whole has become much better in defending the interior and shaded lane, which means Rose's penetrating skills may require him more effort to get to the rim.

However, whenever he makes plays, Rose would not need to get banged up too much because he looks for the open shooters around him.

Right now, the Bulls roster is among the best offensive squads we have seen from the Windy City in years. In order to fully enjoy the benefits of this offensive-type roster, Chicago will need to retain the high quality of defense we have seen from them in years, and Rose should be willing to take a backseat role on offense (around 15-16 ppg) in order to involve more team mates in the mix.

Other teams may eventually find a stopper for Rose in a certain game, but it would be difficult to stop an entire team that can make big shots.
