The Carolina Panthers defeated the Chicago Bears 31-24 on Sunday in a Week 5 match of the NFL 2014 season, placing two of the league's most highly-followed teams against each other.
The Carolina Panthers, ranked #20 on the NFL Power Rankings, lost ten points from the #10 rank the team held last week. The Chicago Bears, ranked #15, lost seven points from the #8 rank it held last week.
The NFL has announced that it will begin testing for human growth hormone on Monday, ESPN reports, citing a statement released by the league's Players Association president Eric Winston.
"Each week of the season, 5 players on 8 teams will be tested. No testing will occur on game days," Winston writes in the statement.
"We negotiated to ensure that the methodology of testing be conducted in the most professional and safest manner for players. Importantly, after three years of negotiating, players won the right to challenge any aspect of the science behind the HGH isoforms test in an appeal of a positive test."
