Upcoming Blackberry Phones 2014: Meet The Most Popular BB Device In Years, Poised To Help Canada-Based Manufacturer Up On His Feet Once More

Just when almost everyone has already dismissed Blackberry's return in the market as a solid phone maker and seller, the Canada-based manufacturer exceeded expectations when it announced the Blackberry Passport as one of its upcoming phones for 2014.

The Passport is unlike anything we have seen from Blackberry in the past two years it has been trying to become relevant in the smartphone world. Unlike other releases in the past, the Blackberry Passport does try to take on the competition with superb specs, a unique design and a long-lasting battery.

In case you missed the device's unveiling some weeks ago, the Passport boasts a 4.5-inch display with 1440 x 1440 resolution (because it's a square display), which is combined with the company's trademark QWERTY keypad for people who still love using keypads when sending text messages.

The good thing with the Passport is that it allows users to enjoy the best of both worlds.

Other specs which are surprisingly high-end for the Blackberry-made handset include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, which makes it on par with other flagships released earlier this year such as the Samsung Galaxy S5, Sony Xperia Z2 (and even Z3), and the HTC One M8.

The 3GB of RAM is also a first for a Blackberry device, and would definitely be able to handle multi-tasking chores in a breeze.

In the report by GSM Arena, the Blackberry Passport features a 3,450mAh battery, which is reportedly the biggest battery ever placed in a Blackberry device. If you are looking for an entire day of moderate to heavy use, the Passport could be the phone for you.

In case you are interested in getting the Blackberry Passport, it is priced at INR 49,990 in India, which is about $800.
