Actor Seung Gyu after coming back from watching the Korea-Japan soccer game on Saturday was involved in a motorcycle accident and was pronounced dead.

According to his agency Taepoong Entertainment, the actor was involved in the accident on the way home after supporting Korea in the Olympic soccer match with Japan.

It was revealed that Seung Gyu hit a guard rail while turning a corner and sustained major head injuries resulting in death.

The funeral service is held in Banpodong, Seoul and the burial will take place on Monday.  

In related news, the actor debuted in 2007 through the drama "Woman of Matchless Beauty, Park Jung Geum" and was later cast in other roles in "The World They Live In," "Glimmering Youth," and in the most recent one, MBC's "God of War."
